About

Formed by Scripture exists to help people become devoted followers of Jesus with their whole lives.

Not better informed. Not more involved. Formed — which is slower, harder, and the only thing that lasts.

How this fits at HopeX

Gather, Connect, Equip, Multiply.

Everything Hope Experience Church does runs along one line. We gather people, we connect them to each other, we equip them to follow Jesus, and we send them to do the same for someone else.

Formed by Scripture serves Equip. And equipping at HopeX has its own internal logic, because information alone is not formation:

Learn

the way of Jesus.

Practice

the way of Jesus.

Be formed

into the likeness of Jesus.

That is why every pathway on this site has three parts rather than one. Watch is Learn. Practice is Practice. Respond is where formation actually meets your week — a conversation, a boundary, a confession, a table, a place to serve.

Formation that is working does not stay private for long. It moves toward Multiply — discovering what God has given you, developing it, and being deployed for the good of someone else. Most people are further along that road than they think.

FORMED

Six dimensions. Not six levels.

FORMED names six areas in which a person keeps maturing: Gospel Clarity, Biblical Literacy, Covenant Community, Kingdom Stewardship, Missional Living and Soul Care.

Soul Care was added in August 2026. It asks whether you are learning to attend to your inner life with God — your emotions, the patterns you carry, your limits, your rest. It is Christian formation, not a mental-health assessment, and it exists because Jesus forms the whole person and not only what you believe and what you do.

There is no order to them and no completion state. Someone who has followed Jesus for forty years is still growing in all six — and frequently in the one they had assumed was finished business. Anything that tells you otherwise is selling something.

Be clear

What this is not.

  • It is not a test, and there is nothing to pass.
  • It is not a personality assessment or a type.
  • It is not a mental-health diagnostic, and it cannot tell you anything clinical.
  • It is not a spiritual maturity score. No number is ever calculated about you and shown to you.
  • It is not a content library that hands you two hundred resources and wishes you luck.

It is a discernment aid. It helps you notice something you may already half-know, and it gives you one honest next step. The right sentence is “this may be an area where Jesus is inviting me deeper” — never “this is what’s wrong with me.”

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 · NLT

Safe & Sound

Formation and care are not the same thing.

HopeX asks two different questions about a person, and keeps them distinct on purpose.

Formation asks: where is Jesus inviting me to grow?
Care asks: what support would help me move toward safety, health and wholeness?

Both belong to one journey. But this site only does the first one. It does not assess care needs, and nothing you answer here flags you to anybody.

Sometimes what surfaces in formation needs more than a resource or a class. If you are carrying something heavy, that is not a detour from following Jesus — it is often exactly where following Jesus starts. HopeX offers presence, practical help and skilled referral. We are not counselors, clinicians, lawyers or financial advisors, and we never pretend to be.

Privacy

Your answers never leave your device.

This is not a policy statement we are hoping you will take on trust. It is how the site is built. There is no account, no login, no database and no server behind this. Every calculation happens in your own browser, on your own phone or laptop.

Your forty-two answers never leave your device. Not automatically, and not when you ask HopeX for help.

There is one place you can choose to share something, and it is worth being precise about what it does. At the end of your pathway you can send HopeX a text saying who you are and which area surfaced — so a real person can follow up. That text is written by this page but sent by you, from your own phone, only if you press send. We never see or store your phone number.

What HopeX receives: your name, the dimension that surfaced, the season, and your next step.
What HopeX never receives: a single one of your answers.

That line is deliberate. If you answered honestly that nobody here really knows you, that belongs between you and God — not in a church database. HopeX needs to know where to help you, not what you confessed.

  • Your answers are saved in this browser only, so you can close the tab and come back.
  • Your notes on messages are saved the same way, on your device and nowhere else.
  • Nothing is transmitted automatically, ever. There is no analytics on your responses.
  • No pastor, leader or staff member can see what you answered or what you wrote.
  • If you text your pathway to HopeX, that is your decision, made on your phone, and it carries your name and your dimension — never your answers.
  • “Clear my responses” removes your answers and pathway. Your notes are kept, and have their own delete control.
  • If you use a different device, none of it will be there — because it never left the first one.

The one thing we don’t control

Messages play here through YouTube, because that is where HopeX hosts them. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, which sets no tracking cookies unless you actually press play — but YouTube can still see that a video was requested, exactly as it could if you watched it on youtube.com. That is worth knowing rather than glossing over.

What YouTube never sees is your notes. They are typed into this page, saved to this device, and never sent anywhere — not to YouTube, not to HopeX, not to anyone.

If you would rather not use a browser at all, ask at HopeX for the printed Formation Pathways workbook. It still carries the original five dimensions until it is reissued, and it goes home in your own handwriting.
